ALPINE QUESTS offers summer accommodation on both a Bed & Breakfast and Half Board basis. We also offer transfers to and from Geneva Airport in our own mini buses. Car hire is also a good option as is self drive from the UK both giving you the flexibility to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. Prices range from £225 pp/pw for B&B to £330 pp/pw for HB.

During the summer many mountain, village and town restaurants are operating which gives you the opportunity to savour the delights of the local cuisine and wines. Evening meals are available in the chalet for B&B guest who may on the odd night like to eat in. A 3 course evening meal would cost £17.50 pp plus wine and £10.50 for children.

Enjoy summer in the Alps where the temperatures get as hot as the Mediterranean. The Alps offer more than you could ever imagine in the summer months. The sights to see and the activities to explore are for everyone of all ages whether you are a thrill seeker who thrives on the adrenalin of mountain biking and white water rafting or a person who enjoys a more relaxed break, taking in mountain walks or painting the fantastic scenery.

With over 580 km of sign posted tracks, and 23 ski lifts open all summer to give you help on the climbs. Chatel has set up a series of special facilities to help you practice the skills in mountain biking

Rafting – Beginners’ and longer sections available. Prices: from €37 to €55

Hydrospeed - or White Water body surfing – A sport where you slide through the water, with an ever-changing sensation of power and speed. Prices: from €37 to €55

Canyoning – Roping down including a waterfall section, a decent of up to 300m taking up to four hours. Prices: from €52

Canoeing – Kayaks and canoes are ideal white water craft. If they are the most easily manoeuvred of all craft, you still need to master the technique! Prices: from €38

The only ride of its kind in the world! An unbelievable sensation attached to a cable in complete safety, you travel from one peak to another at speeds of up to 70 mph.

And if you have enough courage you can now try the second cable newly installed last season.

The mountain, its flora and fauna, the alpine pasture chalets surrounded by Abondance cows grazing peacefully, with their lustrous reddish coats and white 'spectacles', the tinkling of their bells filling the green fields.

To take a deep breath of the exhilarating mountain air, just put on your mountain boots, and with your rucksack on your back ... happiness is everywhere.
On the Morclan Nature Walk, discover the local flora and fauna and their environment, reached by the ski lifts.
On the Châtelan Walk, on the left bank of the Dranse between Le Rocher chalet and the tennis courts.
Here and there you come across questions written on the planks; everyone gives their reply before the plank is lifted to find the correct answer on the back.

If you like heights why not try the Via ferrata. Chatel has a natural rock face suitable for beginner to intermediate. If you want more then visit the dizzy heights at Le Chapelle.

Lake Vonnes is a well-stocked trout lake 5 minutes walk from Chalet les Frangins.

Full day: Adult from €8.00 / Child €4 Rod hire and fishing card available on site. You may keep up to 6 Trout.

Serious fishermen can also enjoy the challenge of the Dranse River at Chatel. Regulations apply.

Mountain lake fishing classes are available with a professional, on Tuesdays from 14.30 to 17.30. All tackle provided.

Chatel’s open air swimming pool is open daily from 10.00 to 18.00 (closed in poor weather).

Prices: Adult €3.80 / Child 6 to 16 yrs €3.30 / Under 5 free.

The lifeguards can give swimming and aquagym lessons.
