Summer accommodation - Self-Catered, Bed & Breakfast and Half Board basis in Chalet Les Frangins .
Chalet Aaron and Chalet Helen are only available as self-catered.

We also offer transfers to and from Geneva Airport in our own minibuses. Car hire is a good option, as is self drive from the UK, both giving you the flexibility to explore the beautiful surrounding mountains.
During the summer many mountain, village and town restaurants are operating which gives you the opportunity to savor the delights of the local cuisine and wines.

B & B prices include continental breakfast and use of chalet facilities. Evening meals are available in the chalet for B & B guests who may on the odd night like to eat in.

A 3 course evening meal is €22.50 pp plus wine and €12.50 for children. Please note child’s age is at time of holiday and not time of booking.

Half-board prices includes continental breakfast, 3 course evening meal with wine (children’s meals 14 yrs and under are 2 courses), and use of chalet facilities, bathrobe, hairdryers, tourist tax.

Parents are asked to provide own infant and baby food.
Self-Catered prices include accommodation and its facilities, welcome pack and tourist tax. Chatel village has a well stocked supermarket.
On arrival day the chalets and apartment are ready from 16.00. On day of departure the chalets and apartment must be vacated by 10.00.

Activities

Enjoy summer in the Alps where the temperatures can be as hot as the Mediterranean. The Alps offer more than you could ever imagine in the summer months. The sights to see and the activities to explore are for every one of all ages whether you are a thrill seeker who thrives on the adrenalin of mountain biking, white water rafting etc, or a person who enjoys a more relaxed break, taking in mountain walks, reading, painting the fantastic scenery………..

Multi Pass Portes du Soleil

Alpine Quests can offer for just €1 per day the ‘Multi Pass Portes du Soleil’ to their guests with unlimited access to many activities throughout the Portes du Soleil for summer. 24 cable cars and chairlifts for pedestrians, 850 km of footpaths, swimming pools, tennis courts, indoor ice-rinks and cultural sites……

Mountain Biking

The Portes du Soleil has over 650km of marked tracks of different grades. 23 ski lifts open all summer to give you help on the climbs.
Chatel has a bespoke MTB trail park, a MTB park and Downhill courses for all levels. Special facilities are set up to help you practice the skills in mountain biking.
Guided mountain bike rides are available with a qualified instructor for groups of beginners and advanced riders. Equipment is provided. Please ask us.
Mountain Bikes can be hired in Chatel village. Prices from: €22 ½ day. €30 full day. €144 6 days.

White Water Sports

Rafting – For all levels, short and long trips. Prices: from €38.00
Hydro speed - or White Water Bodysurfing – A sport where you slide through the water, with an ever-changing sensation of power and speed. Prices: from €39.00
Canyoning – Absailing and tackling canyons 300m deep over the 4 hour course. Prices: from €55.
Canoeing – Explore the river as a two-strong team. A great way to share a fantastic experience. Prices: from €39.

Fantasticable

The only ride of its kind in the world! Two cables rides, 240m high. Attached in complete safety, fly over Plaine Dranse hamlet at nearly 100kph. Price per flight €34.

Walking and Mountain Climbing

The mountain, its flora and fauna, the alpine pasture chalets surrounded by Abondance cows grazing peacefully, with their lustrous reddish coats and white 'spectacles', the tinkling of their bells filling the green fields.
To take a deep breath of the exhilarating mountain air, just put on your mountain boots, and with your rucksack on your back ... happiness is everywhere.
On the Morclan Nature Walk, discover the local flora and fauna and their environment, reached by the ski lifts.
On the Châtelan Walk, on the left bank of the Dranse between Le Rocher chalet and the tennis courts.
Here and there you come across questions written on the planks; everyone gives their reply before the plank is lifted to find the correct answer on the back.

Climbing

If you like heights why not try the Via Ferrata. Chatel has a natural rock face suitable for beginner to intermediate. If you want more then visit the dizzy heights at Le Chapelle d’Abondance.

Fishing

Lake Vonnes is a well-stocked trout lake 5 minutes walk from Chalet les Frangins, Chalet Helen & Apartment Les Balcons.
Prices:
Full day: Adult from €8.00 / Child €4.00. You may keep up to 6 Trout.
Serious fishermen can also enjoy the challenge of the Dranse River at Chatel. Regulations apply.
Mountain lake fishing classes with a professional, every Tuesday from 14.30 to 17.30. All tackle provided. Price: Per person €5.00 subject to availability.

Swimming

Chatel’s open air swimming pool is open daily from 10.00 to 18.00 (closed in poor weather).
Prices: Adult €3.90, Child 6 to 16 yrs €3.40, Under 5 free.
Swimming classes and aquagym with instructors.
PLEASE NOTE ONLY SWIMMING TRUNKS (Speedos) CAN BE WORN - NOT SHORTS.

Excursions

Chatel on the Franco / Swiss boarder is the prime position for visiting the many places of interest on offer further a field. The place of interest in the area are endless, Mont Blanc and La Mer de Glace at Chamonix, Devil’s Bridge Gorge, Chateau Chillon, Gruyere medieval village, Evian, Geneva, Annecy and many more……………

This is the best way to see the mountains top’s as you drift like a bird in the sky. Tandem flights and Courses are available.
